Mindset

There are lines within the psyche that are never meant to be crossed. They are entrances without exits. One side consists of conscience and clarity while the other, chaos and corruption. To tread upon those lines is to tempt madness: to step over them is to become it.

I used to think the world had color and we were allowed to see it. Now I know the world is colored by how we envision it. For some it’s black and white. For others it’s dark shades, and still for others it has light tones. What I find so interesting is that the world seems to know how we view it. And that it is exactly the world it creates for us to live.

Integrity will not chase you, it will only lead you. If you choose not to follow, it will remain behind. That which is moral and righteous, by nature, does not exist in that which is evil and corrupt. Therefore, it will never follow those who lead it to places where it cannot exist.

You are not enough. You never will be. You will never figure it all out, understand all there is and be who everyone needs. You will never get it all right, fix everything that is broken, and always know the right path. You will not make all the right choices, meet every responsibility, and right all the wrongs. Instead you will accept that what is given is enough and that it is more than you deserve. Instead, you will learn that ignorance is often a gift of protection, that there is humility in being wrong, education lives in failure, and that the wrong roads are where we find the destinations we never thought to seek. Instead you will learn choices are teachers of consequences, responsibilities are wisdom we either gain or lose, and God is right and humanity is wrong. Existence becomes understood when we no longer seek purpose in life but accept that life is our purpose.

People don’t choose the hard way because there are other options. They choose it because it is the only option. Life does not always give us a choice. It gives us difficulty with faith in front of it and experience behind it. It does not need judgment from others in the middle of it.

You can view the world through the smallest of perspectives if you choose. You can ignore or include whatever you wish. The level of ignorance you possess is directly linked to the size of world you choose to learn from and experience. But know that when the world seems too large and overwhelming, it is because your only perspective to view it, is too small to see anything but the ignorance you chose to be your world.

Sometimes there’s a desire to do it our own way, forge a new path even though other paths already exist. At the time, it seems inexplicable as to why we feel the way we do when there are already other paths. But then we realize, it was never about a new path needing to exist, but about a new journey we needed to explore.

The devil’s ignorance is such that, despite his intentions, he has become a teacher to humanity. His every action is a lesson in what harms us and keeps us from peace and joy. This foolishness has become our roadmap to enlightenment. So, do not fear the darkness when it swirls about, but instead rejoice, as you note the direction it beckons and then set a course in the opposite direction.

You can be positive or negative in any situation. The thing to acknowledge is that the situation doesn’t care. It has no power to control you, only the power to exist. Now think about that the other way. You could be completely controlled by the situation without the option to be positive or negative and have no power other than to exist. Choice is power. It is the only force that offers any control in every situation.

Everything you truly desire is on the other side of struggle. Everything you need to overcome adversity is on this side of strength. Everything else between those two points is perseverance.
